Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie, was released in 2005. It is written by J. K. Rowling, a popular British author and is the sixth in the seven book series. Harry's sixth successful year at Hogwarts, the past of Lord Voldemort and Harry's preparation for the final encounter with Lord Voldemort and his internal emotional conflicts and confusions are depicted in this movie. There is a bit of romance too.

Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson)are best friends studying in the same school. Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), the school's head master assigns Harry a secret assignment which is Harry's biggest challenge in the school. Dumbledore's intention is to prepare Harry for his final battle with Voldemort, but Harry is diverted by his suspicions of new dangers lurking in the castle.

Horace Slughorn ( Jim Broadbent ), was the former professor of portions, who knew Voldemort's critical defences information because he had interviewed and taught Tom Riddle when he was sixteen years of age. Harry's secret assignment is to unlock this vital key while studying under Horace as Dumbledore believes the information will prove to be vital. Professor Horace Slughorn is an old colleague of Dumbledore's, yet he does not hesitate to manipulate Horace in to returning to his previous post by offering him more money and Harry Potter as his pupil.

This means that, Harry, Ron and Hermione end up in the same portions class. Harry does not have a portions book; therefore he is given one by Horace to refer to for instructions. The book used to belong to a certain Half Blood Prince. Through this book, Harry gains new insights to portions and becomes popular in class. Along with the portions class, Harry begins to receive private instructions from Dumbledore in the form of getting access to Voldemort's past, using Dumbledore's Pensieve memories. To aid him in his final battle with Voldemort.

There is a different kind of threat that the school's other students are facing, "The battle of the hormones"! Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright) and Harry begin to realize that their friendship runs a lot deeper, but Ginny's boyfriend and Ron get in their way, forcing Harry to control his attraction levels. Ron wants to prove that he knows what it is like to be in love and gets romantically involved with Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) leaving Hermione seething with jealousy which she tries hard to conceal.

A box of love portion chocolates mysteriously finds its way in to the wrong hands, spreading love in the air. One student remains unaffected by all the romance because he has only one intention on his mind and that is a dark one.
